ABOUT
We’re fascinated by what makes humans work
At Wellbeing Republic, we’re interested in what enables people to perform at their best, particularly when the pressure is on. What helps us stay energised, focused and resilient? What makes a team thrive? And how can organisations create the conditions for people to do great work without compromising their wellbeing in the process?
We founded Wellbeing Republic over a decade ago because we felt there was too often a false choice between performance and wellbeing. Workplace wellbeing was largely reactive, focused on helping people cope when things went wrong, rather than being treated as a strategic part of how organisations empower people to perform at the highest level, sustainably. The latest research in psychology, neuroscience and human performance tells a very different story. Understanding what enables people to think, feel, connect, recover and perform at their best isn’t simply about preventing problems. It’s about creating the conditions for people and organisations to thrive.
From science to real life
Nick’s route into this work has been somewhat unconventional. After studying Chemistry at Masters level, he spent 15 years studying and working in law and human resources before becoming increasingly fascinated by the psychology of people, performance and organisations. That curiosity eventually led him to establish Wellbeing Republic, bringing together his scientific background, professional experience and a growing body of research into human behaviour, positive psychology and performance.
Nicole has been part of the Wellbeing Republic journey from the beginning, formally joining the business in 2022 after a career in Learning & Development, culminating in her leading a team at a prestigious London law firm. Over nearly two decades, she has worked with leaders, teams and organisations across a range of sectors, translating insights from psychology, neuroscience and behavioural science into practical approaches that make a difference in the real world.
We’re not interested in wellbeing theory for its own sake. We’re interested in what happens when robust science actually changes the way people think, lead and work.
What we do
Today, Wellbeing Republic helps organisations and individuals understand and apply the science of human performance and human flourishing. Through keynotes, workshops, leadership programmes, coaching and strategic consultancy, we explore the factors that allow people to perform exceptionally while maintaining the conditions that make that performance sustainable.
